Las Vegas, NV – Keeneland in Lexington, Kentucky will play host to the Grade 3 JP Morgan Chase Jessamine Stakes on Wednesday, October 8. Two year old fillies will be featured when they go 1 1/16 miles on Keeneland’s turf track for the winner’s share of the $150,000 purse and an automatic berth into the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies.
Nine juvenile females will take to the track in the Jessamine Stakes – race 8 on Keeneland’s Wednesday card. Post time is 4:42 PM. Here is a brief look into the past performances of all nine entries for this mid-week Grade 3 stakes.
Quality Rocks – Bill Mott pupil is 2-for-2 in her short career and is coming off a terrific win in her stakes debut – the minor Arlington-Washington Lassie Stakes September 6 after a 3 1/2 length maiden score at Presque Isle Downs August 13. Jose Lezcano will be in the reins trying to keep the roll going in Quality Road’s grass debut from gate 4. She is listed as the tepid 7-2 morning line favorite.
Fila Primera – has just one career start for trainer Chad Brown and it was a good one – a one mile maiden score on grass at Belmont Park September 7. She makes her stakes debut Wednesday as the 4-1 morning line second choice from post 3 with Javier Castellano aboard.
Walking the Kitten Michael maker trainee will race for the second time Wednesday. The first resulted in a maiden score at Kentucky Downs September 17. Rosie Napravnik gets the mount aboard the 9-2 co-third choice Wednesday from gate 8.
Rainha Da Bateria – H Graham Motion trained filly had a fourth last time out in her stakes debut – the minor P.G. Johnson Stakes at Saratoga August 27 which followed a maiden score in her debut on that same track in July. Joel Rosario will be in the saddle of the 9-2 shot Wednesday from the outside post.

Cool Comfort – Wesley ward trained filly has a win and a second in three career starts – finally breaking maiden last time out at Kentucky Downs September 10. This followed a fourth and a second respectively in similar races this past summer. Rafael Manuel Hernandez gets the call from post 6 at 6-1 odds.
West Coast Belle – will hit the track for the second time this Wednesday off a maiden score at Monmouth Park September 13. Channing Hill will be in the irons from post 7 Wednesday at 6-1 on the morning line.
Magnificent Mango – Michael Maker trained filly broke maiden at first asking – at Saratoga August 8 and followed that with a pedestrian fifth in her stakes debut – the minor P.G. Johnson Stakes at Saratoga August 27. She will have Robby Albarado in the saddle from the rail at 8-1 odds Wednesday.
Late Spring – makes her third career start for trainer Victoria Oliver off an OK third as favorite in the minor Kentucky Downs Juvenile Fillies Stakes September 6. This followed a maiden score at Ellis Park July 19. Alan Garcia has been tabbed to ride the 15-1 shot from post 5.
True to You – will make her third career start for trainer Thomas Amoss off a sixth place finish in the Grade 2 Pocahontas Stakes at Churchill Downs September 6 which followed a maiden score in her debut at Indiana Grand Race Course August 20. Julien Leparoux will ride at 15-1 odds from post 2.
