Las Vegas, NV – Aqueduct Racetrack in Queens, New York will play host to the Grade 2 Jerome Stakes Saturday, January 4. The race will feature three year olds willing to go one mile and seventy yards on Aqueduct’s main track for a purse of $200,000.

Noble Moon – most recently finished third behind Cairo Prince after getting bumped at the start in the one mile Grade 2 Nashua Stakes here November 3 after a 6 furlong MSW score by three quarters of a length in his debut at Belmont Park September 14. Noble Moon was supposed to go in the Remsen Stakes November 30 as third choice on the morning line but was scratched due to an allergic reaction. He departs from the rail with Irad Ortiz aboard as the 6-5 morning line favorite Saturday.
Scotland – Anthony Dutrow trained colt had two starts in 2013 and two second place finishes. Last time out was in a MSW here November 30 after another second in his debut at Laurel Park October 30. Scotland will line up in the 2-hole and is the second choice on the morning line at 7-2 odds with David Cohen in the saddle.
Classic Giacnroll – his five career starts produced two wins, a second and a third place finish. Last time out was a third in his stakes debut – the minor Marylander Stakes at Laurel Park December 7 after two wins at six furlongs in September. Classic Giacnroll is 5-1 on the morning line and leaves from post 7 Saturday with Alex Solis aboard.
Master Lightning – Todd Pletcher pupil Master Lightning is the most experienced colt in the field – five starts with two wins and a second place finish. He has a win in a MSW in his second career start and won again last time out – an Allowance Optional Claiming on this track December 22. Between wins he had two graded stakes starts – a fifth in the Grade 2 Remsen here November 30 and a ninth in the Grade 2 Nashua Stakes also on this track November 3. Master Lightning leaves from the far outside post at 6-1 odds.

Lawmaker – Chad Brown trained colt will make his second career start after a nice win in his only start – a MSW at Laurel Park November 28. He is 8-1 on the morning line and will leave from post 3.
Matuszak – Bill Mott trainee has four career starts with a win in his debut and three off-the-board finishes. Last time out was a sixth in his graded stakes debut – the Grade 2 Remsen Stakes here November 30 after a fifth in an Allowance Optional Claiming at Churchill Downs November 9 and an eighth in an Allowance October 20. He is 15-1 on the morning line and departs from post 5.
Mental Iceberg – has two career start for trainer Gregory DiPrima – a MSW score at Belmont Park September 20 and an eight as the longest shot in the field in the Grade 2 Remsen Stakes last time out here November 30. Mental Iceberg lines up in post 6 at 20-1 odds.
Pin and Win – has four career starts for trainer Joseph Lostritto with just one on-the-board finish. That result was a win in a Maiden Claiming in his second career start at Calder in September. Last time out was a fourth in his stakes debut – the minor Don Rickles Stakes on this track December 21 after an ugly eight in an Allowance October 13. He is the longest shot in the field at 30-1 and will depart from post 4.
