Mohammedan SC pulled off a dramatic draw with two goals in added time to hold Chennaiyin FC 2-2 in an ISL encounter at the Kishore Bharati Stadium here on Wednesday.

Chennaiyin enjoyed a healthy two-goal lead till the end of the regulation time with strikes from P.C. Laldinpuia (10) and Lukas Brambilla (49).

Mohammedan made a spectacular turnaround in injury-time when substitute Manvir Singh Saini reduced the margin in the 90+5th minute.

Then, Lalremsanga Fanai converted a penalty which came up after Manvir Singh was tripped inside the box by Laldinpuia, who was given the marching order after the incident.

Status quo

CFC remained in the 10th spot after tallying 17 points from 16 matches while Mohammedan also did not see any improvement in its status and continued in the 12th position with 11 points from 16 outings.

The visitor took control of the game early and converted its dominance with a goal in the 10th minute when Laldinpuia nodded home from close after Connor Shields found him with a nice cross on top of the six-yard box off a corner.

The host had a chance to equalise in the 27th when it earned the first penalty but Mirjalol Kasimov’s attempt from the spot was saved by Chennaiyin goalkeeper Mohammad Nawaz.

Chennaiyin doubled the lead early in the second half through Brambilla but it was not enough to secure the win.

The result:

Mohammedan SC 2 (Manvir Saini 90+5, Lalremsanga Fanai 90+12) drew with Chennaiyin FC 2 (Pachuau Laldinpuia 10, Lukas Brambilla 49).
