The BCCI has named Ayush Mhatre as the captain of the India Under 19 squad for the upcoming tour of England. Rajasthan Royals’ batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi has also been picked in the India squad.
The England tour will commence on June 24, and it will be a one-month-long tour for the under-19 players.
Ayush Mhatre picked as the skipper
Mhatre was signed by CSK mid-season and showed some glimpses of his talent. Mhatre will lead the U-19 squad, and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is also named in the squad.

The tour will include one Warm-up game, a five-match Youth One-Day series and two-day matches against the England U-19 team.

Ayush Mhatre’s IPL 2025 journey
The young sensation was signed by CSK mid-season. Mhatre replaced injured Ruturaj Gaikwad from the squad. Mhatre managed to score 206 runs at an average of 34.3 in the six innings of IPL 2025.
Mhatre showed his talent against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) when he scored 94 runs in just 48 balls.
Mhatre was also included in the U-19 Asia Cup, but he was just playing as a player in the tournament. The young lad scored 176 runs in five innings at an average of 44 in the U-19 Asia Cup.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi- Ayush Mhatre opening combo
In the last U-19 Asia Cup, Mhatre and Suryavanshi were the openers of the Indian team. The Men in Blue under Mhatre will also go for the same opening combination in the England tour as well.
Suryavanshi and Mhatre added 91-run opening partnership in the semi-final of the U-19 Asia Cup against Sri Lanka in just 8.3 overs and ultimately chased down the 175-run target in just 21.4 overs.
