Punjab Kings, on Tuesday (April 1), thrashed Lucknow Super Giants by eight wickets to register their second win of the ongoing IPL 2025. Set a target of 172 runs, the Punjab-based outfit crossed the finishing line in the 17th over at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.
PBKS were off to a shaky start in LSG vs PBKS match with Priyansh Arya departing for just eight runs in the third over. However, Prabhsimran Singh did not let LSG capitalise on the breakthrough as he scored a whirlwind fifty to put PBKS in the driver’s seat.

He completed his fifty off just 23 balls and shared an 84-run stand with captain Shreyas Iyer for the second wicket. Digvesh Rathi broke the stand in the 11th over by sending back Prabhsimran. The PBKS opener departed after smashing 69 runs from just 34 balls in the LSG vs PBKS match.

Iyer and Nehal Wadhera then shared an unbeaten stand of 67 runs to take PBKS home with ease. Iyer finished the game with a six and also completed his fifty as he remained unbeaten on 52. On the other hand, Wadhera scored an unbeaten 43.
Earlier in the LSG vs PBKS game, LSG finished their innings on 171/7. Asked to bat first, the home side was off to a poor start as it lost three wickets inside the powerplay. Mitchell Marsh, Aiden Markram, and Rishabh Pant returned to the pavilion inside five overs to leave LSG reeling at 35/3.
It was followed by a 54-run stand between Nicholas Pooran and Ayush Badoni before the former departed for 44. Badoni (41) and Abdul Samad (27 off 12) then played handy knocks to help LSG post a respectable total. For PBKS, Arshdeep Singh was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3 wickets.
