Inside Information Stakes 2014 Contenders & Odds

Las Vegas, NV – The Grade 2 Inside Information Stakes comes our way this Saturday, March 22 from Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Florida. Fillies and mares four years old and upward will be after the winner’s share of the $200,000 purse when they dash seven furlongs on Gulfstream’s main track.

A field of seven older females will take part in the Inside Information Stakes – race 10 on Gulfstream’s Saturday card. Post time is 5:36 PM. Let’s take a brief glance into the credentials of all seven entries for this Grade 2 stakes – three of which come from the barn of Marty Wolfson.

Centrique – Martin Wolfson trainee won a Starter Stakes at Gulfstream December 7 and followed that with an Allowance score on that same track January 29. She has one other start in 2014 – an OK third as favorite the Grade 2 Barbara Fritchie Handicap at Laurel Park February 22. Centrique has three wins and three third places in her last six starts overall and has 10 wins, six seconds and five thirds in 31 career starts. Needless to say she enters in the best form of her career. Javier Castellano gets the call from post 3 as Centrique looks for her fourth win in five starts on this track.

My Pal Chrisy – Martin Wolfson trained mare entered the Go for Wand at Aqueduct on a three race win streak including the Millions Distaff Preview Stakes November 9, the minor Musical Romance Stakes and the Pasadena Stakes – all results at Gulfstream. She went on to a third in the Grade 2 Go For Wand and has since registered a third in the Ocala Stakes here December 29 and a pair of seconds – the Florida Sunshine Million Filly and Mare Spring and the minor Awesome Feather Stakes February 5. She also had a good stretch in the summer at Calder – the highlight being a third in the Grade 1 Princess Rooney Handicap July 6. My Pal Chrisy has three wins, three seconds and five third place finishes in her last 11 starts and is in the best form of her 45 race career. Julien Leparoux rides for the first time from post 2.

Heart Stealer – Martin Wolfson trained filly won her graded stakes debut- the Grade 3 Sugar Swirl on this track December 14 after a second in her stakes debut – the Bold World Handicap at Calder November 2. Last time out she fell back to earth a little bit – a fifth in Groupie Doll’s last race in the Grade 3 Hurricane Bertie Stakes here February 9. Heart Stealer has three wins, two seconds and a third place finish overall and has two wins and a second in her last four starts. She served notice in the Sugar Swirl that she is a threat, no matter the level of competition. Heart Stealer leaves from gate 6 with Javier Castellano aboard.

Toasting – Thomas Albertini trained filly is coming off an Allowance score on this track March 8 after a disappointing eighth in the minor Ten Palms Stakes here February 23 and an OK third in the Florida Sunshine Millions Distaff right behind My Pal Chrisy January 10. She ended last year with a good second in the Grade 3 Comely Stakes at Aqueduct in November and a nice win in the minor Dream Rush Stakes at Belmont Park in October. Toasting has placed in four of her last five starts overall and has hit the board in three of four career graded stakes races. She starts from the outside post looking for her first graded stakes win with Dylan Davis on board.

Zia Zia Zia – Todd Pletcher trained filly races in graded stakes company for the first time Saturday but is coming off one of her three wins in a nine race career – an Allowance at Santa Anita January 31. This after failing to place in her previous three starts. Joe Bravo has the call from gate 5.

Five Star Momma – has consecutive seconds heading into this weekend – a good second last time out in the Grade 3 Hurricane Bertie after the minor Willa On the Move Stakes at Laurel Park December 28. She enters this weekend in career best form – those two seconds along with three wins in her last five starts including two minor stakes scores – the Chip Stakes at Aqueduct November 6 and the Lady in Waiting Stakes at Penn National three weeks later. Five Star Momma has 18 career starts with five wins, five seconds and two third place finishes. She leaves from the rail.

Wildcat Lily – raced 14 times in 2013 and finished off the year with a disappointing sixth in the minor Musical Romance Stakes here back on September 21 after a good second in the Grade 1 Test Stakes in August, a second in the Grade 1 Prioress Stakes July 27 and her biggest victory to date – in the Grade 3 Azalea Stakes at Calder July 6. She was off for nearly five months before returning to the track February 9 with a respectable third in the Grade 3 Hurricane Bertie Stakes at Gulfstream. Wildcat Lily has five wins, five seconds and two third place finishes and has placed in nine of her last 10 starts overall with four wins and four seconds over that span. Jose Lezcano has the mount from post 4.
