Rohit Sharma and Co. will be looking to make an early impact against England in their warm-up game ahead of the World Cup. India recently beat Australia 2-1 at home in a three-match ODI series. They were unable to whitewash the Aussies, losing their final game. India will now be looking to bounce back ahead against the defending World Cup champions England.
The two cricketing titans will be going head-to-head at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati on September 30. England were able to overcome Ireland in their previous bilateral series. The English side was able to win one of the three-match series as the other two were abandoned due to rain. Will Jacks and Sam Hain scored 94 and 89 runs each to help England reach a 334-run total. In the second innings, Rehan Ahmed scalped four wickets to secure a comfortable 48-run victory.
India won their last ODI series against Australia 2-1 at home. The hosts lost the last match of the series by 66 runs. The wickets just came in too late for the Indian side as the Aussies amassed a gigantic 352-run total. During their batting performance, Rohit Sharma belted 81 runs in 57 balls and Virat Kohli scored a sublime half-century. However, their efforts just weren’t enough to seal a victory for India.
