ICC Champions Trophy 2025: ‘Pakistan will never face India’

In a colossal development, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the government have decided to take bold steps after the refusal of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to send Team India to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

The Pakistan government is considering not allowing the Pakistan National Cricket Team to play any matches against the Indian National Cricket Team in any competition until the relations between the two countries get better.

BCCI recently informed ICC that India will not visit Pakistan

Recently, various media reports claimed that the Board of Control for Cricket in India has informed the International Cricket Council that the Indian government has denied permission to send Team India to Pakistan for the marquee competition.

The 8-team Champions Trophy 2025 is scheduled to be played from February 19 to March 9 but the full schedule of the competition is yet to be announced.

A few months back, the tentative schedule was revealed according to which India were set to play their matches in Lahore, which is set to host the matches alongside Rawalpindi and Karachi.

However, with India’s rejection to visit Pakistan, reports emerged about the competition being played in the Hybrid Model, with the Men In Blue playing their matches in UAE or Sri Lanka.

Pakistan could pull out of Champions Trophy and never play against India – Reports

Pakistan Cricket Board, meanwhile, is in no mood to adopt a Hybrid Model like the Asia Cup 2023 and is desperate to host all the matches in the country itself.

According to RevSportz, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that they have been informed about the BCCI’s stance by the International Cricket Council.

And now the PCB is eyeing legal options to deal with BCCI and India. The report claims that Pakistan could pull out of the Champions Trophy 2025 if India don’t tour the country and demand a Hybrid Model. Also, Mohsin Naqvi & Co. are planning to take the matter to the ICC Disputes Resolution Committee.

Another latest report in Samaa TV suggests that the Pakistan government has decided that their team will not play any matches in future tournaments against India if BCCI doesn’t send the team to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy.

When India last toured Pakistan?

Pakistan and India do not play against each other in bilateral series and only lock horns in the International Cricket Council (ICC) events such as the ICC Cricket World Cup, ICC T20 World Cup, and ICC Champions Trophy, as well as the Asian Cricket Council’s Asia Cup.

The last time India visited Pakistan for a bilateral series was in 2005-2006. During that tour, India played three Test matches and five One Day Internationals, winning the ODI series 4-1, while the Test series ended in a 1-1 draw.

After that, the Men In Blue also visited Pakistan for the Asia Cup in 2008. Meanwhile, Pakistan last toured India in 2012-13 for a white-ball series. Since then, India and Pakistan haven’t faced each other in bilateral series due to political tensions. However, Pakistan have been visiting India in the ICC events.
