‘I still dream to play for Pakistan’: Mohammad Amir makes himself available for T20 World Cup | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: In what could be a huge boost for the Pakistan cricket team, fast bowler Mohammad Amir decided to come out of retirement and made himself available for the upcoming T20 World Cup scheduled to be held in the West Indies and USA.
The left-arm pacer turned to social media to declare his intentions of once again wearing the green jersey and serving his country.
“I still dream to play for Pakistan! life brings us to the points where at times we have to reconsider our decisions, There has been few positive discussions between myself and the PCB where they respectfully made me feel that I was needed and can still play for Pakistan after discussing with family and we’ll wishers I declare that I am available to be considered for upcoming t20WC ,I want do this for my country as it comes before my personal decisions. Donning the green jersey and serving my country has always been, and will continue to be, my greatest aspirations,” Amir posted on X.

Amir retired from Test cricket in 2019, and a year later, he announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket. He cited his disinterest in representing Pakistan further, attributing it to feeling “mentally tortured” and enduring taunts related to his involvement in the spot-fixing scandal.
