Pakistan National Cricket Team suffered a massive blow during the first ODI against the Australia National Cricket Team. Fast bowler Naseem Shah faced a massive injury scare and walked off the field at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne on Monday (4th November).
Naseem Shah got injured in the second innings of the game while bowling his 8th over in the game. The fast bowler looked threatening with the ball, but he unfortunately had to walk back to the dressing room with a leg injury that looked serious.
After the second ball of the 32nd over, Naseem Shah struggled while walking. He was seen stretching his left leg and it seemed he had some issue in his calf. The physios came out to attend him but the pacer was deemed unfit to take part further part in the game and went off the field.

Naseem Shah looked in decent touch with the ball. He bowled 7.1 overs in the game and also picked crucial wickets of Jake Fraser-McGurk. The pacer also gave away just 39 runs in his spell and kept his team in the hunt in the low defense of just 204 runs.
Pakistan were right on the money with the ball
Pakistan, after a poor batting effort, were right on the money with the ball. The fast bowlers in Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Hasnain, and Naseem Shah were all over the Australia National Cricket Team batters. They kept chipping in with wickets at regular intervals and put the opposition under pressure.
Shaheen Afridi picked 2 wickets and Haris Rauf chipped in three wickets and Pakistan were back in the game. With wickets falling at the other end, skipper Pat Cummins yet again stepped up for his team with the bat in the tricky phase.
The Australia National Cricket Team skipper played a valuable hand of unbeaten 32 runs and powered his team to the win. The hosts won the first game by the margin of 2 wickets and went 1-0 up in the series.
The luck was with Australia and that’s why they won – Mohammad Rizwan
Mohammad Rizwan, who was playing his first game as the captain of the white-ball team, said that they showed great courage. He said that he was happy with the way his team played and credited the bowlers of both teams for the way they performed. Speaking during the post-match presentation, he explained:
“We decided whatever the situation we will fight and show courage. It was good, this kind of match you can’t say anything. It’s difficult to read anything into this game, the result is in God’s hands, but I’m happy with the fight we put up. I was keeping myself busy with field changes.
“Will give credit to both teams’ bowlers. We have always seen a lot of support for Pakistan. Haris Rauf bowled very well, we decided as a bowling group we didn’t want to go to the 5th or 6th bowler; try and use the four seamers. The luck was with Australia and that’s why they won.”
