Las Vegas, NV – Betfair Hollywood Park in Inglewood, California will be the scene of the Grade 2 Hollywood Oaks this Saturday, June 22. A purse of $150,000 will be on the line for three year old fillies willing to go 1 1/16 miles on Hollywood Park’s cushion track.
The Hollywood Oaks has attracted a small field of five females for race 3 on Hollywood Park’s Saturday card. Post time is 2:01 PM. Here is a look at the past performances of all five combatants for this Grade 2 stakes.
Iotapa – will make her fifth career start for trainer John Sadler. She won an Allowance Optional Claiming at Santa Anita February 15 after an eight month layoff and a Maiden Claiming score way back in June. She made her stakes debut April 6 and finished a very respectable second behind Beholder by 2 3/4 lengths in the Grade 1 Santa Anita Oaks and most recently won the minor Railbird Stakes as 7-5 favorite over Fiftyshadesofhay here May 19. Three wins in four starts has Iotapa the one to beat Saturday.
Odine – Bob Baffert trained filly has just five career starts with two wins and three second place finishes. Her wins have come in her last two starts – last time out in an Allowance here at this distance by 3 3/4 lengths as 1-2 favorite May 11 after breaking maiden April 12 at Santa Anita. She makes her stakes debut Saturday and enters in very good form.
Doinghardtimeagain – Jerry Hollendorfer pupil enters the Hollywood Oaks on a two race win streak and having won three of her last five. Last time out was a nice win in the Melair Stakes here April 27 after a win in the Evening Jewel Stakes March 30. She makes her graded stakes debut Saturday with four wins and three second place finishes in eight career starts. She leads the field in career earnings and promises to be a threat in the Hollywood Oaks.

Ciao Bella Luna – Jerry Hollendorfer trained filly raced in graded stakes company for the first time two back and produced in a big way with a terrific win in the Grade 2 Beaumont Stakes at Keeneland April 14 after five career starts and three straight minor stakes starts yielded two wins and a second place finish. Last time out was a decent second in the minor Railbird Stakes behind Iotapa on this track May 19. Distance may be an issue for Ciao Bella Luna but current form certainly will not be.
Unbridled Wee – takes a huge leap in competition in the Hollywood Oaks after four MSW races in her career. Last time out was her one and only win at 12-1 odds May 24 after a pair of thirds and a fourth in her debut at Santa Anita December 30.
