Snehal Kauthankar and Kashyap Bakle slammed their respective triple centuries
Kauthankar and Bakle also slammed their respective triple centuries as well, which was the 2nd and 3rd quickest triple tons by Indians. This was also the second time two batters hit triple tons in the same innings as a Ranji Trophy match. Tamil Nadu’s WV Raman and Arjun Kripal Singh had struck 313 and 302 runs, respectively, against Goa in 1989.
While Bakle got to his triple century in 269 deliveries, Kauthankar ended with the innings unbeaten on 314 off 215 deliveries. Their staggering partnership with the bat saw Goa registering a 643-run first-innings lead for their side, having bundled out Arunachal Pradesh for just 84 runs.
Thanks to their heroics with the bat, Goa posted a first-innings total of 727. This was the second-highest score in the Plate division, sitting only below Meghalaya’s 826 for seven against Sikkim in 2018. Overall in the history of the Ranji Trophy, this was the ninth-highest total.
After posting a total of 727 runs on the board, Goa came up with a massive effort with the ball. They wrapped up the innings of Arunachal Pradesh for just 92 runs to win the game by the massive margin of an innings and 551 runs.
Lakshay Garg was the pick of the bowlers as he bagged four wickets while Deepraj Gaonkar and Keith Pinto picked two scalps each. For Goa, Nabam Abo was the top batter for his team as he ended with an innings of 31 runs off 30 balls, slamming five fours and one six.
