From Travis Head to Annabel Sutherland, full list of award winners

Cricket Australia, on Monday (3rd February), held an award function to reward the best performers from 2024. Travis Head was awarded the Allan Border Medal, while Annabel Sutherland was given the Belinda Clark Medal.

The first award of the night was Betty Wilson Young Cricketer of the Year. It was given to Chloe Ainsworth for her incredible performances in 2024. The 19-year-old set the stage on fire in WBBL as she picked 12 wickets at 18.58 and also bagged 10 wickets in the WNCL.

Sam Konstas won the Bradman Young Cricketer of the Year

Young Australia National Cricket Team opener Sam Konstas won the Bradman Young Cricketer of the Year for his heroics with the bat. The opening batter made his debut for the team in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 and hit a half-century on debut.

The Women’s Domestic Player of the Year Award went to Georgia Voll. She made her debut for the Australia National Cricket Team after her impressive performances in domestic cricket. She scored 566 runs in 12 innings at 56.6, including two centuries in the 2023-24 Women’s National Cricket League. She also was decent in WBBL.

Beau Webster was named Men’s Domestic Player of the Year. The all-rounder was exceptional in the Shield tournament as he became just the second player to score 900 runs and take 30 wickets in a single Sheffield Shield season. He also went on to make his debut for Australia in Tests during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25

The Women’s ODI Player of the Year award went to Ashleigh Gardner for her consistency throughout. She scored 385 at 38.50, including her first international hundred and two fifties, and was the leading run-getter for her team in the 50-over format. With the ball, she was second highest wicket-taker with 23 wickets at 15.52.

Travis Head wins the ODI Player of the Year award along with the Allan Border Medal

Travis Head was given the ODI Player of the Year award after he bagged the most votes. The left-hander beat Alex Carey, Steve Smith, and Xavier Bartlett to win. The batter played a magnificent innings of 154 against England at Trent Bridge and also was decent with the ball, taking a four-wicket haul.

Shane Warne Men’s Test Player of the Year award went to pacer Josh Hazlewood. The premier pacer claimed the Test prize with 20 votes and beat Travis Head by one vote. The pacer picked 30 wickets at just 13.16 in Tests against West Indies, New Zealand, and India.

Adam Zampa was crowned as Australia’s T20I Player of the Year. He pipped Travis Head by just three votes to win the award. The leg-spinner was the key performer for his team as he had 35 wickets (14 more than the next most, Marcus Stoinis, with 21) at 17.2 and an economy rate of 7.72 in the 21 games that he played for the team.

Beth Mooney was named Women’s T20I Cricketer of the Year and this was for the third time in her career that she won the award. She scored 618 runs at a strike rate of 130 including five half-centuries in the games that she played in 2024

The biggest award of the day of Cricket Australia, Allan Border Medal, went to Travis Head for his exceptional effort with bat throughout the year. He gained 208 votes to win the award while Josh Hazlewood was given 158 votes.

On the other hand, Annabel Sutherland won the Belinda Clark Medal. She won the award with 168 votes as she was exceptional throughout the year.
