NEW DELHI: Pratika Rawal achieved a significant milestone when she made her international debut against West Indies women on December 22, becoming the 150th player to represent India Women.
Her journey from studying psychology to representing Delhi in cricket presents an unconventional path.
The 24-year-old has established herself as a consistent performer in domestic cricket, scoring a remarkable 161 off 155 balls for Delhi in 2021. In her inaugural year, she scored 247 runs at an impressive average of 49.50.
Her List-A performances over the subsequent two years approached the 1000-run mark.
The 2022-23 season saw her amass 552 runs in 14 matches, including five half-centuries. Her form improved further the following year, scoring 411 runs in 7 innings, with two centuries and two fifties, maintaining an average of 68.50.
Her prowess was evident in the inaugural Women’s Delhi Premier League, where she represented East Delhi Riders and scored 93 runs in two matches, ranking fourth in run-scoring.
She also led Delhi to the final of the 2024 Under-23 T20 Trophy as captain.
Throughout her List-A career, Rawal has accumulated 1368 runs, maintaining an average of 54.72 with a steadily improving strike rate of 75.58. Her fourteen-year cricket journey demonstrates consistent progress.
