Las Vegas, NV – Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Florida will play host to the Grade 2 Forward Gal Stakes on Saturday, January 24. Three year old fillies will be featured when they go seven furlongs on Gulfstream’s dirt track for a purse of $200,000 and 10 qualifying points toward the Kentucky Oaks in May.

Skipalute – Eddie Kenneally trained filly has four runner-up finishes in five career starts – the best two coming in her last two starts – the Grade 3 Delta Downs Princess Stakes behind 2-year-old Filly Champion Take Charge Brandi last time out November 22 and in the Grade 2 Matron Stakes at Belmont Park October 5. Skipalute has been competitive every time out and will hope to snap a string of runner-up finishes in graded stakes company from the outside post with Javier Castellano in the irons.
Lassofthemohicans – improving Brendan Walsh trained filly has placed in all four career starts – one win and three second place finishes. She makes her stakes debut after easily breaking maiden by five lengths last time out – on this track December 28 and three runner-up finishes in her first three career starts. Edgar Prado will be in the irons Saturday as Lassofthemohicans steps up for the first time after a bullet work Saturday – from gate 8.
By the Moon – is coming off an eighth after starting from an unfavorable post 12 in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies which followed a nice win in the Grade 1 Frizette Stakes October 4, a good second behind Condo Commando in the Grade 1 Spinaway Stakes at Saratoga August 31 and a maiden score in her only other career start – also at Saratoga July 18. She looks to bounce back with Jose Ortiz aboard from post 10.
Enchantress – Todd Pletcher trained filly has three career starts with two wins – the only blemish coming in her only stakes action – the Grade 3 Tempted Stakes two back at Aqueduct. She won her debut at Keeneland and most recently posted an Allowance Optional Claiming score by an impressive five lengths on this track December 13. Enchantress looks to break through in stakes company when she leaves from post 6 with John Velazquez in the saddle.

Seduire – Jerry Hollendorfer trained filly has looked good in her seven race career – four wins and two second place finishes. She enters off a terrific gate-to-wire win by 2 1/4 lengths in the Grade 2 Santa Ynez Stakes at Santa Anita January 3 which followed a nice 5 1/2 length win as 3-5 favorite in the minor Golden Gate Debutante Stakes November 29, a second in the minor Anoakia Stakes on this track October 12 and a fifth in the Grade 1 Del Mar Debutante Stakes in August. She has three stakes wins already and is expected to be competitive again Saturday after straight terrific performances. Joel Rosario rides from post 5.
Ekati’s Phaeton – William Kaplan trainee is coming off a nice win in the Grade 3 Old Hat Stakes on this track which followed a close second in the minor House Party Stakes at Gulfstream Park West November 29, a sixth in the minor Our Dear Peggy Stakes on grass in October and consecutive wins – a MSW and an incredible 10 1/4 length Allowance score with a terrific 90 Beyer Speed Figure on this track this past summer. She now has three wins (all on this track) and a second place finish in five career starts and is coming off the best performance of her career. Luis Saez gets the call from post 7.
Taylor S – Dale Romans trained filly won her debut and went on to a disappointing tenth in the Grade 1 Darley Alcibiades at Keeneland in October. She has looked better in two starts since – a third in the minor Rags to Riches Stakes at Churchill Downs in October was followed by an Allowance Optional Claiming score by an impressive 6 1/4 lengths last time out on that same track. Taylor S looks for her first stakes score Saturday with Corey Lanerie guiding her from post 3.
Distinta – Gustavo Delgado trained filly has three career starts with a win and two second place finishes. She makes her stakes debut Saturday after finally breaking maiden in her third career start – January 3 on this track. Before that was a pair of seconds in similar races in Florida this winter. Edgard Zayas has been tabbed to ride Distinta from post 2.
Birdatthewire – will make her stakes debut Saturday for trainer Dale Romans after finally breaking maiden in her fourth career start – at Churchill Downs November 29. That win followed a fourth, a second and a third respectively in MSW races the last six months. She steps up with Irad Ortiz in the saddle from gate 4.
Tripocha – will race for just the second time for trainer Gustavo Delgado – the first being a Maiden Claiming score on this track December 21. She jumps into stakes company for the first time Saturday from the rail with Jose Lezcano aboard.
Momameamaria – will make her stakes debut Saturday for trainer Robert Falcone off a second in an Allowance Optional Claiming on this track December 13, a maiden score at Aqueduct November 16 and a fifth in her debut in October. Rajiv Maragh has the mount from post 9.
