Jos Buttler will be leading the team in the India ODIs, T20Is as well as the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Premier batter Joe Root has made a comeback into the team after a while and will be featuring in the ODIs against Men in Blue and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. He isn’t part of the T20Is.
Sam Curran, Jonny Bairstow and Ben Stokes fail to make cut into the England’s squad for the ODI series against India and the ICC Champions Trophy 2025

The Jos Buttler-led side will be leaving for India on 17th January and the three-match ODI series will be a great preparation for them for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025. It will also be the first assignment for Brendon McCullum as the head coach of the white-ball team in English colours.
The Jos Buttler-led side in their last 50-over event, which was the ICC World Cup 2023, had a horrible outing. They were eliminated from the group stage itself and finished in the bottom half of the table. They would be keen to improve on that and win both series in India as well as the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
