Audible , victor of the 2018 Florida Derby (G1), was represented by his first winner July 9 when Dorothy Crowfoot broke her maiden at Hawthorne Race Course.
The filly out of the unraced Midnight Lute mare Enjoy This Moment outlasted the field in a 4 1/2-furlong race by 6 1/2 lengths, stopping the clock in :51.39. Enjoy This Moment is a half-sister to graded stakes-winning sprinters Sum of the Parts and Rocket Heat . Dorothy Crowfoot is her mare’s only starter from two foals.
The win on a fast track at Hawthorne earned Dorothy Crowfoot $21,000.
Bred in Kentucky by Farfellow Farms and owned by Carolyn Wilson, the bay 2-year-old filly is trained by Larry Rivelli.
She’s been in the sales ring twice, most recently at the 2023 Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s March Sale of 2-Year-Olds in Training where she was bought by Wilson for $500,000 out of the Top Line Sales consignment. At the sale, the filly breezed an eighth of a mile in :10 at the under tack show.
Audible, an 8-year-old by Into Mischief , was 5-1-2 from 10 starts, earning $2,130,520. In addition to winning the Florida Derby, he also won the Holy Bull Stakes (G2), and finished third in the Kentucky Derby (G1).
Bred by Oak Bluff Stables, he is owned by China Horse Club, Head of Plains Partners, Starlight Racing, and WinStar Farm. Audible was trained by Todd Pletcher.
Audible went to stud in 2020 at WinStar Farm and stands there for $25,000.
