Former Australia cricketer David Warner has been appointed as the captain of Karachi Kings for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 after Shan Masood’s sacking. The development was confirmed by the franchise through their social media account on Monday (24th March).
David Warner was recently picked by Karachi Kings in their drafts ahead of the season. The former Australia player, who went unsold in the IPL, will be keen to make an impact for the team and lead from the front, taking his team to glory.
David Warner, who called his retirement from international cricket recently, has been playing in the leagues around the world. The opening batter also was the captain of Sydney Thunder during the Big Bash League (BBL) 2024-25, where he played a massive role as a batter and the leader.
David Warner led from the front and took his team to the final before losing against Hobart Hurricanes. The opening batter also played for Dubai Capitals in the ILT20 2025 as well. He played a vital hand for the team in the knockout as his team went on to win the title.
David Warner now would be keen to carry on the same form in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025. With the added responsibility of the leader, a lot will be dependent on him in the league.
Confirming his appointment as captain, Karachi Kings stated: “Big energy. Bigger moves. 𝘾𝘼𝙋𝙏𝘼𝙄𝙉 𝙒𝘼𝙍𝙉𝙀𝙍 𝙄𝙎 𝙍𝙀𝘼𝘿𝙔! 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗱 𝗪𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗿 takes the charge and ready to lead the Kings Squad in HBL PSLX”
