Claiborne Posts Fees; Prince of Monaco to Join Roster

Claiborne Farm in Paris, Ky., announced many of its advertised stud fees for 2025, led by the venerable War Front  , and with new sires Prince of Monaco   and Bright Future   joining its stallion roster.

War Front, a son of the mighty Danzig, will stand for an advertised fee of $75,000. He is North America’s leading sire by lifetime percentage of stakes winners and graded stakes winners. This year, he added to his impressive list of top runners with E. P. Taylor Stakes (G1T) winner Full Count Felicia , and grade 3 winners Fort Washington , First World War , and Goliad , winner of the Mint Millions Stakes.

Claiborne Farm’s release of 2025 fees came hours after the farm had announced it secured the breeding rights to Prince of Monaco, one of the top dirt sprinters of his class and the only son of top sire Speightstown   to win a grade 1 at age 2. Claiborne said he would join its roster after he retires from racing. He is listed among its 2025 stallions.

The 3-year-old, who won the Best Pal Stakes (G3) at Del Mar Futurity (G1) as a juvenile, is targeting the Nov. 2 Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1) at Del Mar for his next start. His fee will be announced at a later date.

Bred in Kentucky by Barbara Banke’s vaunted Stonestreet Farm, Prince of Monaco is out of the Medaglia d’Oro   mare Rainier , a half sister to stakes winners Laurie’s Rocket  and Greeley’s Rocket .

A $950,000 yearling purchase, Prince of Monaco performed well this year on the East Coast as a 3-year-old, finishing second by a half-length in the Woody Stephens Stakes (G1) at Saratoga Race Course following a seven-month layoff. He was runner-up again a month later, by a neck behind Domestic Product , in the H. Allen Jerkens Memorial Stakes (G1).

“Running a 103 Beyer (in the Best Pal) as a 2-year-old is a significant achievement and a great barometer of talent and ability,” said Claiborne Farm president Walker Hancock. “Additionally, he was only beaten a combined three-quarters of a length in two premier grade 1 races at Saratoga this summer, while dealing with troubled trips. We have a tremendous amount of respect for Stonestreet’s breeding program and we are excited to add another one of their homebreds in Prince of Monaco to our stallion roster.”

Prince of Monaco races for the partnership of SF Racing, Starlight Racing, Madaket Stables, Stonestreet Stables, Dianne Bashor, Robert Masterson, Waves Edge Capital, Catherine Donovan, and Tom Ryan.

Bright Future, winner of the $1-million Jockey Club Gold Cup (G1), will debut at $12,500. The 5-year-old son of Curlin   won five of 11 starts and earned $947,940 for owners Repole Stable and St. Elias Stables and Hall of Fame trainer Todd Pletcher.

Other stallions on the Claiborne roster include Blame  , Silver State  Annapolis  War of Will  Demarchelier (GB), Runhappy  , First Samurai  , and Lea  .

War of Will’s fee will be determined, and Lea stands for a private fee.
