NEW DELHI: After India’s triumphant campaign in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, key members of the squad, including skipper Rohit Sharma, all-rounder Hardik Pandya, Shreyas Iyer, and head coach Gautam Gambhir, returned home to a warm reception on Monday.
Fast bowler Harshit Rana was among the first to arrive, landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi from Dubai.

India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir also touched down in Delhi, marking his return after successfully guiding the team to the prestigious Champions Trophy title.

Gambhir arrived in New Delhi around 7 PM, where he was welcomed by officials before heading to his destination. The 2025 Champions Trophy victory in Dubai is his first major title as India’s head coach, a role he took over in July last year.

Meanwhile, Indian captain Rohit Sharma arrived in Mumbai at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, accompanied by his family.

The veteran opener, who played a crucial role in India’s title-winning campaign, was greeted warmly by fans.

Rohit landed in Mumbai around 8 PM alongside his wife, who had been in Dubai supporting him during the final. The Indian captain was instrumental in the title clash, scoring a match-winning 76 off 83 balls, decorated with seven boundaries and three sixes, earning him the Player of the Match award.

Other players also departed from Dubai to their respective destinations. Some, sources revealed, opted for short vacations abroad before returning to India to begin preparations for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

India created history by becoming the first team to win the Champions Trophy three times, defeating New Zealand by four wickets in the final at Dubai International Stadium on Sunday.
With their ICC triumph now behind them, the focus shifts to IPL 2025, which is set to begin on March 22. The Indian players will soon join their respective franchises as the countdown to the highly anticipated tournament begins.
