Veteran Indian batters Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will continue to be part of the top tier in the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) 2024-25 central contracts despite stepping away from T20I cricket. Middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer is expected to regain his contract after missing out in the 2023-24 cycle.
Rohit, Virat, and Ravindra Jadeja retired from the T20I format following India’s victory in the 2024 T20 World Cup. Kohli and Sharma, along with Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah, were retained in the top bracket during the 2023-24 central contracts. Rohit, Kohli, and Jadeja will be part of only two formats.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are set to retain their A+ central contracts, worth ₹7 crore. The BCCI has decided to maintain its contract status out of respect for its stature in Indian cricket. On the other hand, Shreyas Iyer is expected to regain his central contract after losing it in the 2023-24 cycle.
