KOCHI: Forget the past, look ahead positively.

That was the message T.G. Purushothaman gave as he took over the reins of Kerala Blasters as their interim head coach after the recent sacking of Swedish gaffer Mikael Stahre.

After losing six of their last seven games, the Blasters play bottom-placed Mohammedan SC in the ISL at the Nehru Stadium here on Sunday, a match that offers the Kochi-based side a wonderful opportunity to get back to winning ways.

But Purushothaman was cautious.

“We had beaten them earlier (Kolkata, Oct. 25) but tomorrow it’s a new match. We don’t know what they have planned, we plan to do what we can do and achieve the motive,” said the former Kerala goalkeeper.

While the Blasters’ frontline appeared good, the Blasters defence and goalkeeper had looked shaky this season.

But Purushothaman made it clear that it doesn’t help pointing fingers at anybody or worrying over the past.

“You can’t point at a particular player, we believe in teamwork, we will go together to achieve everything in a positive way. And we don’t want to think of what happened in the past, it’s over.”

And there won’t be any big changes immediately.

“For one or two matches, we will not go for any revolutionary changes, we are trying to make a team to do our best and get three points.”
