The Purse For Mini-Auction Increased To Rs 15 Crore

The WPL 2025 mini-auction will take place after teams announce their retained players, with an increased auction purse of Rs 15 crores. Each team can have a squad of 18 players, including a maximum of six overseas players. Teams can release as many players as they wish before the mini-auction.

For the third season of the WPL, the auction purse has been increased to Rs 15 crores. The auction purse was Rs 12 crores in the inaugural season and Rs 13.5 crores last year. This increase in the purse will help WPL teams to rebuild their teams during the mini-auction.

WPL Has Been A Very Successful Tournament – Amol Muzumdar

Indian women’s team head coach Amol Muzumdar believes that the first two editions of the WPL played a crucial role in adding depth to the national team. During a recent press conference at the Women’s T20 World Cup, he said that the tournament has been successful.

“I think WPL has been a very successful tournament so far in the last couple of editions. You have seen what response WPL has had. Obviously, the stats have helped and we have dug into a lot of statistics and we have seen the results.”

“Some of the players that have come into the Indian squad here at the World Cup, I think are products of WPL as well. Of course, not undermining the first-class cricket as well back home, but WPL has given us a strong base to find players,” he added.
