Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto lost in straight games in the mixed doubles quarterfinals of the Badminton Asia Championships in Ningbo, China, on Friday.
With their exit, the Indian challenge at the tournament also came to an end.
World No. 18 Dhruv-Tanisha went down 20-22, 13-21 to the fifth-seeded Hong Kong, China pair of Tang Chun Man and Tse Ying Suet in 41 minutes.

The Indian duo raced to an 8-0 lead in the first game but its opponent, ranked 5th in the world, made a comeback to level things up at 10-10. The two pairs were neck and neck in the second half of the opener till 19-19. From there, Tang and Tse surged ahead and converted their second game point to take the lead.
The Indians stayed close to Tang and Tse in the second game but from 9-9, the pair from Hong Kong, China won eight straight points. The gap was simply too big for Dhruv and Tanisha to cover.
