Horse Racing Rebates

Kitten Kaboodle – Trainer Chad Brown sends out Kitten Kaboodle -winner of the Grade 3 Jessamine Stakes by five lengths on this track October 9. She had two career starts before the Jessamine and two seconds – both MSW races at Saratoga this past summer. Last time out was a very disappointing seventh in the Grade 3 Florida Oaks at Tampa Bay Downs March 8 after an equally unimpressive eleventh in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf however. She hopes for a huge bounce back Thursday on a track that was the scene of her biggest result to date. John Velazquez gets the mount from post 7.

Zinzay – has three career starts for trainer George R. Arnold with a win and two second place finishes – one of the seconds coming behind Kitten Kaboodle in the Jessamine Stakes on this track in October after breaking maiden in her career debut. Last time out was another second place finish in an Allowance Optional Claiming at Gulfstream March 15. She leaves from gate 2 looking for some revenge over Kitten Kaboodle with Joe Rocco Jr. aboard.

Lacarolina – will make her North American debut Thursday for trainer Mark Casse having recorded four wins in seven starts in her native France. Last time out was one of those wins – the Group 3 Prix Miesque Stakes November 16. She brings with her a lot of hype and is certainly an intriguing entry for the Appalachian. Stewart Elliot has the mount from post 3.

Resistivity – had a third in the Grade 2 Forward Gal Stakes at Gulfstream January 25 after breaking maiden in her third career start also on that track. Last time out was a very disappointing tenth in the Ashland Stakes on this track April 5 after she returned to the winner’s circle for trainer Mark Casse in an Allowance Optional Claiming score at Gulfstream March 15. She has two wins, a second and a third place finish in six career starts and will be looking to bounce back from a career worst performance here last time out. Julien Leparoux will ride from gate 9.

Paloma P – Eric Reed trained filly debuted with a ninth at Keeneland in October but is undefeated in three races since. Last time out was an Allowance score at Sam Houston March 11 after another Allowance victory February 1 and a MSW win here December 31. Albin Jimenez will be aboard in her stakes debut Thursday from the outside post.

Babe’s Ruler – most recently finished an OK fourth in the Grade 3 Florida Oaks at Tampa Bay March 8 after a good second at the OBS Championship Stakes at Ocala Training Center January 21 in her fourth career star. That followed a maiden score at Tampa Bay December 22 and a second and a sixth respectively in a pair of MSW races. Kent Desormeaux rides from gate 6.

Maria Maria – James DiVito trained filly has nine career starts already with two wins, a second and three third place finishes. She last raced in graded stakes company in October finishing tenth in the Grade 1 Darley Alcibiades Stakes on this track in October and has placed in two of four starts since – a win four back in an Allowance Optional Claiming at Hawthorne and a third last time out in an Allowance at Tampa Bay Downs March 8. She will have Robby Albarado in the reins from gate 11.

Darling Dancer – will try to remain perfect in her career for trainer H. Graham Motion. She has two starts and two wins – an Allowance score last time out at Churchill Downs in October followed a maiden win in her debut in September at Laurel Park. She hits the track for the first time in nearly six months Thursday with Alan Garcia aboard from post 5.

False Clock – enters the Appalachian on a two race win streak for trainer Michelle Lovell – an Allowance Optional Claiming last time out at Fair Grounds after breaking maiden there in her third career start February 21. Her other two career results were a second and a seventh respectively in a pair of MSW races also at Fair Grounds this past winter. Brian Hernandez will be aboard from post 8 Thursday.

Annulment – made her stakes debut and finished sixth in the Grade 3 Florida Oaks March 8 after breaking maiden in her third career start at Keeneland October 26 and finishing third in an Allowance at Churchill Downs November 20. She started her career with a third and a fourth at Churchill Downs in September – both results coming in MSW races. Corey Lanerie has the mount from post 10.

Sweet Acclaim – Irish bred Chad Brown trained filly make her North American debut Thursday having recorded a win and a third place finish in two career starts at home. She won at first asking at Great Yarmouth in August and since has a third at Newmarket. She will race for the first time since September with Rosie Napravnik in the saddle.

Recepta – is coming off a good win in the listed Chelsea Flower Stakes at Belmont Park way back in October for trainer James Toner after a seventh in her stakes debut – the Grade 1 Frizette in October and a maiden win in September at Saratoga. She makes her first appearance in 5 1/2 months Thursday with Joel Rosario aboard from the rail.
