Varun Chakravarthy has been nominated for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for January following his exceptional performance against England in the T20I series.
The mystery spinner claimed 14 wickets in five matches with an impressive average of 9.85 and an economy rate of 7.66, helping India secure a 4-1 victory in the home series.
Chakravarthy’s bowling prowess was evident throughout the series as England’s batsmen found it challenging to decipher his variations.
West Indies spinner Jomel Warrican is also in contention for the award after his crucial role in the drawn Test series against Pakistan.
Warrican topped the wicket-taking charts with 19 dismissals, earning him the player of the series honor against Pakistan.
Pakistan’s Noman Ali, who captured 16 wickets in the same series, rounds out the men’s nominations.
In the women’s category, Indian opener Gongadi Trisha received a nomination following her outstanding performance at the ICC Women’s U19 T20 World Cup.
Trisha emerged as the tournament’s leading run-scorer with 309 runs and made history by becoming the first player to score a century in the competition.
Her remarkable performance was instrumental in India’s successful defense of their U19 T20 World Cup title.
