Why is Sanju Samson not keeping wickets in IND vs ENG 5th T20I

India National Cricket Team keeper-batter Sanju Samson hasn’t taken the field during the ongoing second innings of the fifth T20I against England National Cricket Team. The last match of the series between the teams is underway at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Sanju Samson, yet again, didn’t have a great outing with the bat in the series, and it was expected that he would be taking the field in the second innings. However, that wasn’t the case, as he didn’t walk out to keep the wickets, and it raised a lot of eyebrows.

With Sanju Samson not taking the keeping duties, Dhruv Jurel has been given the onus. However, the reason behind the latter not coming to take the field in the ongoing fifth T20I has been revealed. The keeper-batter got injured while batting and, hence, didn’t come out.

Sanju Samson got injured during the second ball of the innings against Jofra Archer. The England National Cricket Team pacer bowled a short ball that shaped back in, and the India National Cricket Team batter was hit on the gloves, and it didn’t look good.

Sanju Samson immediately called for the physios as the ball hit him hard on his finger. It was bleeding as it seemed that there was a cut on his finger. After getting some treatment, he was back to batting but couldn’t bat long as he was dismissed early.
