Virat Kohli’s last-ball wicket leaves Rohit Sharma and Indian dressing room shattered

India National Cricket Team had the worst possible end to Day 3 of the ongoing first Test against the New Zealand National Cricket. Premier batter Virat Kohli got out on the last ball of the day at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Virat Kohli, who came to bat at No.3, played a magnificent role for his team in the first Test. The batter helped the team fight back and brought them back into the game, having conceded a lead of over 350 runs. The right-hander played positive strokes and kept his team in the hunt during his stay at the crease.

Virat Kohli, after looking scratchy for 15 balls, was back to his old self. He used his feet to perfection and even played sweeps against the spinners. The batter, with the support of the crowd behind him, made sure that he kept his intensity high on the field and scored runs for his team.

Virat Kohli slammed his 31st half-century in Tests, first in 2024 and with the way he was batting he looked all set for a big ton. However, he had a heartbreak just ahead of the stumps. The batter perished to Glenn Phillips on the last ball of the day and it made everyone silent at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

Glenn Phillips bowled a flatter ball outside off. Virat Kohli tried to defend but he got the faintest of edges. He was deemed out by the umpire but the batter opted for DRS. The UltraEdge showed a gentle murmur and it left India batter extremely disappointed.

What caught the attention of many was the reaction of skipper Rohit Sharma. The opening batter looked completely shattered while the other Indian players around him were also dejected as Virat Kohli had to walk back on the last ball.
