Rajasthan Royals (RR) are hosting Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 70th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The last league game of the tournament, which is also a table-toppers clash, is taking place at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Sunday (19th May).
This will be the second time that RR and KKR will be facing off each other in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Since both the teams have qualified for the playoffs, the game will serve as a huge preparation as they are likely to face the playoffs as well.
The head-to-head record between RR and KKR speaks volumes about the competition that has been between the two teams. Overall in the 29 games, both the teams have won 14 games each and one has ended in a tie. The game will also depict who will play KKR in the qualifier 1.
Kolkata Knight Riders are currently at the top of the table and even though if they will face defeat they will end at 1. They have 9 wins from the 13 games and have 19 points to their name. RR on the other hand are second on the points table with 8 runs from 13 games.
KKR will be entering the game on the back of some dominant performances in the IPL 2024. They would be keen to win the last game as well and move into playoffs on high. RR, on the other hand, will be under pressure as they have lost four consecutive games and a loss might cost them the second spot on the table.
The last game between KKR and RR in the ongoing IPL 2024 went in the favour of Rajasthan Royals. It was the brilliance of Jos Buttler, who took the game away from Kolkata Knight Riders from the jaws of defeat.

Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to field first in the game against RR. He said that with the game being 7-over they didn’t want to take a chance with batting first. He stated:
“It’s a seven-over game, we will get a fair idea of how it plays. Anukul Roy comes in.”
RR skipper Sanju Samson also talked about his desire to field first due to the conditions. Talking about their combination, he stated:
“Would have bowled first too. The last pitch was a lot drier, this one has a bit more moisture so we wanted to bowl as well. We made last-minutechanges. I think Nandre Burger might come in and rest is the same.”
