Former Australian head coach Darren Lehmann has made a bold prediction for the upcoming five-match Test series between India and England, which is set to begin on June 20 at Headingley in Leeds. Darren Lehmann predicted a historic home Test series for England.
The former Australian cricketer has reckoned that England will have a flawless home summer and boldly predicted that the hosts will not lose a single match to India in the upcoming five-match Test series. He backed England to whitewash India in the upcoming Test series.
Darren Lehmann confident of England whitewashing India at home
The Pataudi Trophy will be on the line as India looks to break a long-standing drought in England. The Indian cricket team has the Pataudi Trophy, but they have not won a Test series in England since 2007.

With iconic Indian players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the twilight of their careers, they will be eager to help the national team break their drought on English soil.
However, Lehmann believes that England is the stronger side at home and predicted that they will silence any doubts before facing Australia in the Ashes 2025. He is confident that Ben Stokes and his team will dominate the summer and maintain their winning streak.
Don’t think they will lose a game this summer: Darren Lehmann
Darren Lehmann was quoted as saying by Sky Sports, “India is a very good cricket team, but England will win at home. That’s just what happens. I think they will dominate the summer and put a lot of questions to bed—then get to Australia, where the real questions start. They will bounce back as a one-day side, and I don’t think they will lose a game this summer.”
Notably, the Indian cricket team had a golden chance to win a Test series in England when they led 2-1 during their 2021 tour. However, the final Test in Manchester was postponed due to COVID-19 cases in the Indian camp. However, England bounced back to level the Test series 2-2 when that match was played in 2022 at Edgbaston.

Now, the Three Lions have two major challenges ahead of them, and the former Australian coach believes that they will need to produce something special to break their 15-year winless streak in Australia, considering their strong bowling attack and home advantage.
England will need a big turnaround to break the jinx in Australia
The aggressive “Bazball” approach has been a talking point, but Lehmann feels it has not been as effective on difficult pitches. While England has shown dominance on flat tracks, their ability to adapt to challenging conditions remains under the radar, and the results are not that impressive.
Darren Lehmann signed off by saying, “They have had a bit of a hiccup of late with Bazball, haven’t won too many games, so that is a challenge. Are they a chance to win The Ashes? They have a chance but they will have to play very well. They haven’t won a Test in Australia for 15 years, so it will need a big turnaround.
It is something they could do if they get on a bit of a roll but I just think the bowling attack Australia put out there and on the wickets we play will be a real contest for them. Bazball has been excellent and works on flat wickets but as soon as the wicket does anything it doesn’t really work.”
