India skipper Rohit Sharma has shared clips of him chilling in the Maldives after winning the 2025 Champions Trophy.

The 37-year-old made history in Dubai by leading the Men in Blue to their second ICC crown in the last two years. While some cricketers returned to their IPL pre-season training, others like Rohit made the most of his short break before rejoining the Mumbai Indians camp.

The star batter shared a glimpse of his beachside retreat in an Instagram reel where he is seen enjoying his vacation with his wife Ritika Sajdeh and daughter Samaira.

The video began with Rohit riding a bicycle. He then gave fans a sneak peek at the resort he was staying in during his trip. Rohit even engaged in a game of Monopoly with his daughter before they headed out for a walk. He was rocking vibrant casual threads throughout the clip, including a pair of shorts and a bucket hat.

While Rohit had a relaxing vacation in the Maldives, things did not go as planned on his arrival in India. The star batter had to deal with multiple reporters outside the airport who were waiting to get a glimpse of him. Things soon got a little ugly when Rohit seemingly lost his cool on a video journalist present there. The confrontation’s clip was later shared by Viral Bhayani on Instagram.

Rohit is set to join the IPL pre-season camp later this week with the 2025 edition kicking off on March 22. The former Mumbai Indians captain found time to unwind after a hectic 2024-25 season where he led India in Test and ODI cricket. The 37-year-old even played a round of Ranji Trophy following his batting failures during the 2024/25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

There were a lot of speculations around Rohit’s future after India’s Champions Trophy triumph but the skipper confirmed he wasn’t throwing in the towel anytime soon. “Right now, I am taking things as they come. It wouldn’t be fair for me to think too far ahead. At this moment, my focus is on playing well and maintaining the right mindset. I don’t want to draw any lines and say whether I will or won’t play in the 2027 World Cup,” Rohit told Star Sports (as per multiple outlets), after winning the ICC event.

Rohit Sharma will now have his eyes set on putting up another individual masterclass in the IPL with hopes of bagging a record-extending seventh crown. He will next be featured during Mumbai Indians’ season opener against the Chennai Super Kings. The match will take place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on March 23.
