The Indian team celebrated on the night of the historic Champions Trophy victory in Dubai. The players were clearly elated after this achievement as India won their first 50-over title in 12 years.

However, the players returned home the next day through different flights. All the players are believed to have gone to their respective homes in order to spend some time with their families ahead of a hectic IPL season.

Why no big celebrations after India’s CT 2025 win?

After India won the T20 World Cup last year, the players held an open-bus parade and were also felicitated by the government of India and the BCCI for their tremendous achievement. However, there will be no open-bus parade or big celebrations after this win.

It is mainly because of the lack of time between the Champions Trophy and the upcoming season of IPL. The players are believed to be tired and need to freshen up soon before the long IPL season which will go on for two months.

As a result, it was decided that the players would rest and spend time with their families before joining their respective IPL franchises ahead of the next season. All the Indian players involved in the Champions Trophy have IPL contracts.

Rohit Sharma shines in the final

Rohit Sharma played a critical role in the final to help India defeat New Zealand by 4 wickets. The Indian skipper scored a magnificent 76 off 83 balls to give his team a solid base which was further used perfectly by the middle order.

Rohit struck 7 fours and 3 sixes during his knock. He started his innings in an emphatic fashion with an aggressive intent. He made good use of the powerplay restrictions and ensured to give India an advantage earlier in the innings.

He stitched a strong opening partnership of 105 runs in 18.4 overs with Shubman Gill. While Rohit didn’t have a great tournament with the bat overall, he played a captain’s knock in the final and led from the front.

Rohit Sharma will be next seen in IPL 2025 where he will play for Mumbai Indians. He was retained by MI for INR 16.30 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction and is likely to open the batting. Allrounder Hardik Pandya will lead MI in the upcoming season.
