Parx Racing and Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course have canceled their racing cards for the second day in a row Feb. 18 as high winds and inclement weather continue to hit the region.
Their closure leaves Turf Paradise in Phoenix, Ariz., as the lone Thoroughbred track open for racing Tuesday.
The National Weather Service forecast wind gusts of 30 miles per hour Tuesday in Bensalem, Pa., home of Parx, that would create a wind chill temperature in the single digits. Youngstown, Ohio, home of Mahoning Valley, had a windchill of -4°F late Tuesday morning with light snow being forecast.
