Three years after first capturing the Sycamore Stakes (G3T), Trinity Farm’s homebred Red Knight seeks a second success in the 1 1/2-mile turf stakes Oct. 13 at Keeneland.
The New York-bred 9-year-old Pure Prize gelding, an earner of $1,883,213, leads an overflow linep in the $300,000 race that includes 12 horses in the body of the field, plus four also-eligibles. His leading rivals are Bold Act , Channel Maker , Tawny Port , Limited Liability , and Therapist .
Red Knight won the 2020 Sycamore for Hall of Fame trainer Bill Mott. Since 2022, he has been under the care of trainer Mike Maker, for whom he has four wins from 10 starts, one of them coming in the Man o’ War Stakes (G1T) at Belmont Park in May.

Red Knight has raced competitively in three subsequent losses, including when fourth, beaten two lengths, in the Sept. 9 Kentucky Turf Cup Stakes (G2T) at Kentucky Downs. He won that race in 2022 before finishing a close eighth in last fall’s Sycamore.
